Day one did not start off as I intended it to, I over slept and basically wasted my whole morning. Which threw off all my plans for the day, but I am not going to let that stop me. Life happens and we have to adjust our plans/schedule to make it work. My old mentality would just throw away the whole day and start fresh tomorrow. My new mentality works with these kinks and finds a way to make the most of the situation. So instead of doing my workout first thing this morning, it's happening at 2 pm in the afternoon.
Workout of the day is from the LIIFT4 program, Week one, day one- Chest and Triceps. I have completed this workout before and am a big fan. Weight training is turning out to be my favorite form of exercise. I am a person that struggles with cardio/HIIT workout's so focusing more on weight training while mixing in some cardio/HIIT sets is the way to go.
After warming up, today's workout consisted of weight training focused on chest and triceps, follow by some high intensity interval training (HIIT). After every workout there is a core component that works on strengthening your core followed by a five minute cool down stretch.

My arms feeling like jello... after taking about a month off of working out this was definitely a tough one. I did have to use the modified version of the workout, but I did up my weights since the first time I've ever done this workout, so thats an improvement. One of the biggest reasons I chose BeachBody as my workout platform is because they encourage using the modified workouts. Trainers wants you to be able to crush the sets with precision and control, using the modified workout I can accomplish that.
Post workout endorphins are AMAZING! I've been living with generalized anxiety disorder and depression for a few years now and I admit exercising does help with all of it. I think a-lot of my mental struggles come from being overweight and not being happy in my own skin. After this eight week program, I hope that will change and I can make progress on becoming a happier and healthier individual.
Side note: another reason I love at home workouts is the fact that I can watch TV while working out. Gilmore Girls is my current go-to binge show, even though I've watched it entirety twice. Currently on S1E6, and all I have to say is I wish I had a go-to diner where the owner makes me coffee cake and blows up balloons for my birthday. Although, growing up I did have a master baker for a mom so this chick always got a homemade birthday cake, and I did request some intricate cakes (hi, mom!).

With day one workout complete, I am off to seize the day. Tomorrow is meal prep day, so I will be heading out the Trader Joes and Sprouts for groceries. Maybe I will do a haul of all the goodies I come home with on instagram... stay tuned. Any whooo, thanks for stopping by!
